Having
started the simulation, one of the following error messages appears:
-
"Invalid system call or division by zero detected."
-
"Win386: A program error has been detected..."
This
problem may show up on fast PCs, such as Pentium II 300 MHz and higher.
Please install the newest update. |
How
to configure a network installation of FluidSIM where several users
-
use the same FluidSIM installation,
-
need no write permission for the central FluidSIM directory,
-
have individual options/configuration files in their respective
home dictionaries?
Firstly,
install FluidSIM on the server in a shared directory. Secondly, for each
user, set up a directory (e.g. G:\HOME\USER1\FL_SIM_P)
and copy the directories aq and misc
(from the shared directory). Thirdly, for each user, create an association
from fl_sim_p.exe that refers to the
user's working directory.

Circuit
printouts on a high resolution printer (600 dpi and more) appear unsatisfactory,
because of the very thin lines.
Install
the newest update , which has a print routine
that works independently from the printer's resolution.

Printing
on a network printer does not work. However, network printing with other
programs works.
Sometimes
it is necessary to assign a printer port to the network printer. This can
be accomplished as follows. Open the printer's properties dialog box in
the Windows control panel. Add a new port (e.g. LPT1 or LPT2 if a local
printer is already connected) and select this port as printer output.

Playing
the educational films does not work in the network.
Two
possibilities exist to play the educational films without having a local
CD-ROM drive.
1. Use the CD-ROM drive from some other PC in the
network
Necessary pre-condition: The respective PC has both global
access enabled and a drive letter assigned for the CD-ROM.
2. Use a hard disk drive in the network
Necessary pre-condition: The newest update
is installed. Moreover, create a file user.txt
in the misc directory of the FluidSIM
installation. Edit this file and insert the text "3 <path>",
where <path> is to be replaced
by the absolute path pointing to the avi-files
(observe the blank following the number).
Example:
The educational films can be copied from the FluidSIM
CD. They are located in the directory fl_sim_p\mov
(and fl_sim_h\mov respectively)

The
simulation is aborted and the following message appears:
The
message indicates that a supply unit has not been used properly in a circuit.
The following figures illustrate both a proper and a non-proper usage of
a supply unit.
